Finally, we have a resolution...maybe it'll end soon!!!! (let's hope!!!)

The DRBC has finally decided to award FL and MI all of their delegates, with half a vote each. I think this is good, but it gets deeper: the FL delegates are awarded on the basis of the January Primary(this pleased Clintonites, Obamaniacs weren't upset) and the MI delegates were apportioned with Clinton getting 69 to Obama's 59. Of course the Clintonites were upset, and she reserved her right to appeal to the DNC Credentials Committee, but they don't meet until the Convention in Denver in August. I hope it doesn't go that far, but I wouldn't be surprised.

Today, Clinton wiped the floor with Obama in Puerto Rico, but I really don't care what they think, they aren't able to vote in the general election(thank GOD!!! They are constantly electing Republicans!!!!) she won with over 60% of the vote with 93% of precincts reporting. I cannot wait until Wednesday, there will be no more primaries...only the superdelegates to decide who they want. Prayerfully they will do it sooner rather than later...b/c at this point, i don't even care who the nominee is as long as it isn't Mike Gravel...he's as crazy as a pet 'Coon!!!

Obama left Trinity, and it's about time...but he left about twenty years too late!!! I hope I get to meet him this summer...I doubt that I will, but he does have interns thorough the CBC, so maybe I'll get a chance. I hope him being a member of the CBC isn't gonna come back and bite him in the butt!!! he might wanna drop out now, that way folks don't misconstrue his membership...I would understand him withdrawing...he's trying to offend as few people as possible...and we are a very understanding people(when we wanna be!!!)

Let's resolve this please!!!

On Saturday, May 31, 2008, The Democratic Party Rules and Bylaws Committee(DRBC) will meet to decide the fate of the delegations from Michigan and Florida to the Democratic National Presidential Nominating Convention. The lawyers for the Democratic National Committee(DNC) have come to the conclusion that the DRBC can only seat half of the delegations. The DRBC is, however, free to decide whether they want to seat the whole delegation with 1/2 votes, or just half of the delegates. The DRBC is also at liberty to decide about the votes of the FL & MI Superdelegates: Whether the Superdelegates get their votes as a whole group, or if they will only have half their number present(at least that's what I think I heard and read). I also believe that the DRBC decides in what proportion the delegates will be apportioned to the candidates.

Also: A Florida court threw out a lawsuit Wednesday challenging the Democratic Party's decision not to seat delegates from Florida -- as litigants prepared to appeal the case to the U.S. Supreme Court.

Political consultant Victor DiMaio and his lawyer Michael Steinberg had compared the party's decision to earlier prohibitions against allowing African-Americans to vote and invoked the trauma of the Florida recount in the 2000 contest between Al Gore and George W. Bush, both arguments also used by Hillary Clinton to support the seating of the state's delegates.
...
Judge Richard Lazarra sided with the party, saying political parties have the right to make their own rules.(the article can be found here)

I am going to try to get into the DRBC meeting, it is open to the public, but there are only day of credentials left, so I will be up early Saturday morning to get there and get a first hand view of the meeting outcome. That way I can know that what I'm writing is actually factual and not speculation.

Full-Blooded?? Heritage?? Blood equity??...okay, hat??

As I was surfing this morning, on my daily blogroll, I went to one of my favorite political blogs and read this post about some woman(Kathleen Parker)'s article about why WV residents didn't vote for Obama. okay so this woman quotes this young West VA, "'A full-blooded American.'That's how 24-year-old Josh Fry of West Virginia described his preference for John McCain over Barack Obama. His feelings aren't racist, he explained. He would just be more comfortable with 'someone who is a full-blooded American as president."' So this is crazy, this woman is Jewish, and yet, has the nerve to try to use the same argument against Obama as so many people use against her people. I just don't understand where this is coming from: since Obama is multi-ethnic/multi-racial, he is not a full-blooded American?? What is that exactly?? the only people here who can claim to be full blooded Americans are the native Americans(and there is some argument against that), everyone else is the descendant of some type of immigrant. So this whole nativist hatred of immigrants is unfounded, and utterly appalling. and the fact that this woman characterizes Whites as the "typical Americans" is just stupid....forget being PC...this bitch is off her rocker!!! I wanna know what makes on a typical American, b/c depending on where you are "typical" has a different meaning...at school "typical" means Black, in the US Senate "typical" means White and Rich...so I first need this woman to define terms before she starts to throw them out...enough said read the article, let me know how you feel!!

Breaking News: Sen Edward Kennedy(D-Massachusetts) has been diagnosed as having a malignant glioma. I did some research and found this: Malignant gliomas are the most common primary brain tumor, accounting for more than half of the more than 18,000 primary malignant brain tumors diagnosed each year in the United States. These tumors are the second-most common cause of cancer death in the 15 to 44 age group.

The outlook for patients with malignant gliomas is poor. Median survival for patients with moderately severe (grade III) malignant gliomas is three to five years. For patients with the most severe, aggressive form of malignant glioma (grade IV glioma or glioblastoma multiforme), median survival is less than a year.

Surgery is recommended for all operable brain tumors and is usually followed by radiation therapy. Several studies have shown that adding chemotherapy to radiation can improve patients' survival. In June 2004, after the completion of the current study, researchers announced that adding the drug temozolomide (Temodar®) to radiation therapy increased median survival in patients with glioblastoma multiforme by about two months (see related story). This approach is now considered the standard of care for the initial treatment of these tumors.

IN other news: Barack Obama told the GOP to back off when it comes to Michelle, he told them could say what they want about hime, but get off Michelle. SO what do you think: Is he fair game?? When I watched her later explanation of her remarks...I understood her remarks..she said that for the first time she was proud of the amount of political involvement this race had created. so I don't understand the big hoopla when you look at the whole picture!!!

You stinkin' LIBERAL!!!!

I just really don't understand why being called a liberal is an insult....could someone enlighten me? I read the comments on these articles about politics and it seems that the only "insult" people are able to hurl at Obama(besides naivete, and inexperience) is that he's the most liberal member of the senate. I always thought that was a good thing for Democrats, but now I'm seeing Clinton supporters upset by him being so liberal(and quite frankly, I don't think he's that liberal: there is no way he could have won in Iowa and come really close in Indiana if he was an ultra-liberal like myself!), find something else to complain about in regards to Mr. Obama.

And what is up with this whole GOP attack on Michelle Obama?? I mean they should have attacked Hillary Clinton, she was part of the Clinton administration. Mrs. Obama has made it clear that she will not be another Hillary Clinton(she hates politics, and she has no aspirations) and I really don't think her comments should have very much bearing on Obama's campaign. But I will say that she needs to stop overruling him in public, I mean i have read several articles about her just shutting him down in the middle of making a point, now that's fine in private, but not in public!!

And John McCain has lost several members of his campaign team. Obama seized upon the chance to paint McCain as nothing but "politic as usual": "The fact is, John McCain's campaign is being run by Washington lobbyists and paid for by their money," Obama argued Monday in Billings, Mont. — far from the Beltway. "I'm not in this race to continue the special interest-driven politics of the last eight years. I'm in this race to end it."

And in other news: Ellen is gonna get married to Portia de Rossi. YAY, Ellen!!!

Surprise, surprise

John Edwards endorsed Obama, and Hillary said she's staying in! And Bush told Israeli lawmakers that Obama is not concerned with their continued existence(what a crock of crap!!!) and McCain said he wants to work across the aisle, the Senate and house have passed a bill to stop filling emergency reserves of gasoline and oil. That is what I have heard so far, will update when more news is received!

So...Wright has had a history of spewing hatred against Whites??

I found this picture while surfing the net, had no idea it existed! I don't think it makes Hillary a hypocrite, but it does raise questions about why she would bring up the Wright issue in the primary. Rev. Wright had visited the White House and she was there that day, but she isn't demonized by Bill shaking his hand! And why are people trying to infringe upon Rev Wright's right to free speech?? He can say whatever he wants, I don't understand how the ACLU can represent the Nazi when they wanna march in Skokie, Ill(read Jewish enclave), but not one person outside of Black America has the guts to defend him. This is so sad...and so what if he said "God Damn America?" I have heard people say worse things, and its not like his comments were completely off-base! WE (read the US) claim to fight wars to protect and restore the rights of non-citizens, some of whom say worse things about us, but we try ignore the injustice in our own country. We have a history of racism in this country, and I would venture to say that we still do, and we have to understand that people(both Black and White) feel very strongly about racism(whether they agree with it or not)! And I really don't understand why so many White People are "surprised" that he said that: Sunday is the most segregated day of the week!!! I'm sure that White churches have a history of perpetuating racist ideals(think Southern Baptist: it broke from the northern to protest the abolitionist movements, and the same happened with the other major White denominations), but I definitely don't think it affects White politicians in bad ways, I actually think it helps(in some cases)

Pennsylvania...nothing was resolved...so ON TO THE CONVENTION IN DENVER!!

Many people had hoped that the people in Pennsylvania would tell Hillary Clinton to drop out of the Democratic Presidential Nomination race, and yet she is still in the race! I personally don't have any issue with her staying in the race, it is her right to stay in the race as long as there is no obvious nominee(and neither has the 2024 delegates needed to secure it). I can also understand her dropping out...it took her husband until April to win the Nomination in 1992. And once he was declared the nominee, the party coalesced around him. I can only hope that feelings aren't hurt enough to prevent a reconciliation on the floor of the Convention. And I also hope that the Dems have learned from the McGovern mistake and are looking into the backgrounds of potential VPs, even if we don't have a nominee for Pres. yet. I would hate for the ticket be humiliated by something in the VP cand.'s past. But I would like for Clinton(1? 2? 3?) to really consider toning down the rhetoric, we don't need to tear our own candidate down before the other side does. And I wonder why so many Democrats think that there are these vast differences between the policy positions of the two candidates: they both have odd ideas of what universal healthcare(read mandatory insurance) should be, they both wanna get out of Iraq, they both see the value in diplomacy, and they both wanna get rid of tax cuts that hurt the economy more than they help. I have said this to say that people should be willing to vote for Obama if he is the nominee, I mean if Clinton bows out at the convention and endorses him, then accept it and hope for it another time. But I do stand by the statement I have made before, if Clinton doesn't overtake Obama in pledged delegates without poaching his delegates, and is selected by the superdelegates I will be changing my party affiliation and voting for Obama anyway as a write-in...and if that doesn't work...I'll vote for Nader just to make sure she knows she doesn't have a mandate from the people just because our representatives chose her. and I am also willing to vote for another person in my city's congressional primary if my congressman ignores the fact that Obama represents the voice of his constituents. The rationale for this decision is that one doesn't represent me if your ideas aren't in line with mine. Let me know your thoughts on the matter.

Nevada Caucuses Hit Snag...Lawsuit Reminds one of FL Under Jeb Bush...Hmm

Nevada’s state teachers union, as well as six Las Vegas area residents filed a lawsuit late Friday that could make it harder for many members of the state’s large hotel workers union to vote in the hotly contested Jan. 19 Democratic caucus in Nevada. The lawsuit argues that the Nevada Democratic Party's decision, decided late last year, to create at-large precincts inside nine Las Vegas resorts on caucus day violates the state’s election laws and creates a system in which voters at the at-large precincts can elect more delegates than voters at other precincts. The lawsuit employs a complex mathematical formula to show that voters at the other 1,754 precincts would have less influence with their votes. The at-large precincts are being established because thousands of hotel workers cannot leave work to participate in the midday caucuses in their home precincts. The Nevada State Education Association has said it would not endorse any Democrat, but some of its top officials have endorsed Mrs. Clinton. Click on the title, it links to an article that goes further in-depth. I'm not gonna touch this...I don't live in Nevada, and don't know all of the ins-and-outs. Just wanted to put it out there.

Really?? Makes Me Wonder If They're Really Thinking!

Okay folks, I was watching Lou Dobbs Tonight again. I just have to point out that he and I are on the exact same wave length (as far as politics, anyway). So today I'm gonna rant about the Real ID Act, which would make it (virtually) impossible for illegals to get driver's Licenses. I don't really understand how our representatives minds work, this law will not be implemented for another 9 (yes, nine) years--thats 16 years after September 11, 2001. I mean this law is supposed to keep illegals from boarding planes, which is how they ran into the Twin Towers and the Pentagon. I mean seriously, is there any clearer example of dereliction of duty?? Driver's licenses to illegal immigrants?? I don't understand how ILLIEGAL immigrants can be entitled to the same rights as I, a citizen of this country. I pay taxes, I perform community service, I obey laws and know how to drive. But someone that breaks the law is entitled to the EXACT same right as me?? Come on CONGRESS!!!! Why are you pandering to people who don't even have the right to vote??? I mean dang, can I get some consideration?? I vote and pay taxes, you should care what I think!! Enough about that..it'll just make me have a heart attack.

Okay starting now there are gonna be two awards given out in every (almost) new post. I will be giving Kudos to some politician that is doing the job they were hired for, and the WTF?? award to a politician that really can't be thinking straight. So for the inauguration of the awards I give you:
Kudos to Mike Cox the Attorney General of Michigan. Mr. Cox said the smartest thing I've heard in this debate over whehter or not ILLIEGAL immigrants are entitled to driver's licenses. He asked how people who aren't legal residents of the United States be legal residents of Michigan, and using sound reasoning, came to the conclusion that it's impossible and that they are therefore not entitled to Driver's Licenses! Hooray!! Someone with sense!!!

Kudos go out to Frank Jackson, the Mayor of Cleveland, OH. Cleveland Mayor Frank G. Jackson is suing Wall Street over the U.S. economy-threatening subprime lending crisis. Jackson, a Democrat, filed his suit against 21 banks in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court, naming venerable institutions such as Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs, Merrill Lynch and Wells Fargo for creating a public nuisance. The mayor contends the companies irresponsibly bought and sold high-interest home loans to people who had "no realistic means of keeping up with their loan payments," resulting in widespread defaults that depleted the city's tax base and left entire neighborhoods in ruins, the Cleveland Plain-Dealer reported. City officials hope to recover hundreds of millions of dollars in damages, including lost taxes from devalued property and money spent tearing down or boarding up thousands of abandoned houses. "To me, this is no different than organized crime or drugs," Jackson said in an interview with Plain Dealer reporters and editors. "It has the same effect as drug activity in neighborhoods. It's a form of organized crime that happens to be legal in many respects." (this was taken from http://www.politicalgateway.com/news/read/124315)

WTF?? to Hillary Clinton, Senator from New York, and Democratic Presidential Candidate. Mrs. Clinton was heard to tell a crowd that there are no illegal women, and no illegal men, either. Now I wonder what she means?? does she mean that people who have crossed the border into our country without proper permissions are here legally?? does she mean that anyone who harbors a desire to live here can come here with no consequences?? I just don't understand!! Pardon me Mrs. Clinton, but would you mind answering this Question?? WTF do you mean?? I would love to hear from you!

In other News, I will be in South Carolina on Saturday to canvass for Barack Obama, in his quest for the Presidency. I defintely need to request my ballot form Missouri, so that I can vote for him. I would prefer John Edwards, but I'll take who I think would be the second best.
